The Sahara 40 ships 85% pre-assembled with all required tools included. Maximum rider weight: 132 lbs.
Why does the Sahara 40 ATV keep stalling?
Common reasons a 40cc gas ATV stalls: (1) Choke left on — switch from CHOKE to RUN after engine warms up (30–60 seconds). (2) Old or incorrect fuel — drain and refill with fresh 87-octane gasoline. (3) Dirty carburetor — clean the main jet with carb cleaner. (4) Clogged air filter — clean or replace the foam element. What fuel and oil does the Sahara 40 gas ATV need?
The FRP Sahara 40 requires 91-octane premium gasoline (unlike most other FRP models that use 87-octane). Engine oil: 10W-40 motor oil, approximately 0.35L. Change oil every 15–20 riding hours. The Sahara 40 is a 4-stroke engine — never add oil to the gasoline. Running on incorrect octane gasoline causes engine knock and premature wear.
Is the Sahara 40 ATV safe for kids?
Yes, with proper supervision and gear. The Sahara 40 includes a heat protector to shield riders' legs from the exhaust, an adjustable speed limiter, and an emergency kill switch. The ATV Safety Institute recommends all youth ATV riders ages 6–11 use ATVs with engine sizes of 70cc or less — the Sahara 40 at 40cc falls well within this guideline. Always require a DOT-certified helmet, gloves, long sleeves, long pants, and ankle-covering boots.
